Just this morning, we read "faith is the substance of things NOT SEEN, the evidence of things HOPED FOR."
Well, what we cannot SEE is this - where are we going?
What we hope for is this - a place to stay!
As it stands right now, there will definitely be no closing today (Friday 1 Aug). Everyone involved (except our mortgage company, thankfully!) is in the "buck passing"stage. Supposedly the insurance inspector came by the house and took pictures of people working on the roof so he didn't finish the inspection. Then the seller's realtor phoned someone who told someone that someone told him once that an inspection had NOT been ordered! This has had some frantic e-mails going back and forth between our realtor, the seller's realtor, - are you confused yet? IMAGINE HOW WE FEEL!
I spoke with my son (the mortgage company) and he says it is STILL possible - IF HE GETS the proper documents in time to get the funds on the way - for us to close Monday! SO, we are vacating the temporary housing provided for us by the company and putting things in the cars and driving away. We will cram all our boxes, suitcases, cat carriers and ourselves (including said cats) into a bedroom at our daughter's house and wait!
More later - I feel like Sarah going out "where she knew not" - ya know?!
