Saved the best for last - AAAAARGH! July 8. 2011

PIRATE DAY! I'd been waiting for this one for ages! James got to do his shirt (we painted the apron on Day #1 and he wasn't here) - and he designed quite a shirt with his name on it in pirate black and white! Then we took some laminated pirate figures, glued them on popsicle sticks and had a little puppet play - aaaaaargh! Here's the puppets in our gorgeous turquoise play-doh. It doesn't look turquoise - but it WAS!

Then James tried hard not to find everything in the I Spy Jar - Caleb says "aaaargh!"There's a lot of birdseed in this one - it's the big one I made for James - and it was WAY too heavy for Caleb.

NEXT, we made a rainbow cake - okay we learned the hard way not to use all dark colors - they baked together and made purple but it was still FUN!

Caleb's daddy is a chef and so he wasn't quite sure about all this - but both of em said "AAAARGH! Umm when can we eat it?"
We layered it in jars, set them in water and put in the oven! Getting the cake OUT was another matter entirely!

Our cake assembly was interrupted by a kamikaze squirrel who was determined to help himself to birdseed from the "squirrel proof" feeder!
This is a heavy game of pirate concentration - the score? "AAAAARGH!" I laminated pirate graphics and the boys had quite a time matching!

The pirate sensory tub. THIS was what I'd waited for and it was a roaring success! James loves it too and wanted to have a go when Caleb was finished!
WOW a diamond bracelet! And a treasure chest full of GOLD!
Had to try on the pirate eye patch!

He found ALL the loot!

Control to Pirate #1 - you're losing Pirate #2! Somebody's getting sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy! Pirate lunch was funny face pizzas - unfortunately one of our pirates was too sleepy to eat!

This is our rainbow cake - it was quite tasty but looked a little ... revolting!

Pirate #2 revived in time to have a bite!

And once again, all good things must come to an end. At the end of every hard day in the life of a pirate comes .... a nap! I LOVE THIS ONE!
